Day 365. So this is it. The last day of The Year of the Beard. Thank you to all of my followers who have joined along the way, whether you have been here since the blog’s inception or since last week—I appreciate all of you. Thank you to those who have liked or reblogged any of my pictures. You have temporarily boosted my ego for a year’s time. I realize(d) that this blog was quite narcissistic, but as I said in a post on my new blog, it kept me honest and had me doing something somewhat productive each day. I do have regrets regarding this blog; namely, that I did not start with a “fresh canvas”. This I can attribute to not wanting to lose any length before Nationals. I also regret not taking measurements more often.
With that said, a beard length update: I started at 2 inches / 5 centimeters. I am ending at 3 1/8 inches / 9 centimeters on average. In one year’s time, with one or two light/needed trims, it ends with 1.125 inches of growth. That is a smaller number, and a much slower growth, than I thought it would be. It got extremely thick. My beard hair is extremely dense, as evidenced to those who can see it in person, but that was not my ultimate goal. In the end, I am happy with this, and what I have done. I hope that this blog has made some smile, or enjoy my little snippets of life and its happenings.
This blog will not be active anymore, as it was a year-long project. I will make one, possibly two, more posts with a gif or two and possibly a video cataloguing the days.
Again, thank you. Farewell, for now. If you are in Philly, find me at a show and say what’s up. If not, it’s been cool. The ask box will be on indefinitely. Take care everyone.
